Does The “Master Lemonade Diet” Deliver Results?

Does The Master Lemonade Diet Really Work? 13 Years and I am still around. The Master Lemonade Diet has many names.  It is referred to as the master cleanse, master cleanser, lemonade diet, and others.    I was introduced to the Master Lemonade Diet 13 years ago.   My beautician told me about it and mentioned she had heard that there were some people using it. She had even tried it and said it worked well for her. She told me to go to the neighborhood health food store and buy the book by Stanley Burroughs “The Master Cleanser” also known as “The Lemonade Diet”. I took her advice and went to the neighborhood health food store. The two older ladies there raved about the cleanse and gave me encouragement. They told me I should start off doing (5) days since this was my first time.

The two ladies told me I could still work out; (during the years I have sometime elected to not work out while doing the cleanse) all I needed to do is be close to a restroom. I read the entire book by Stanley Burroughs and began the cleanse about two days later. I have to say the first day I began feeling some dizziness and lightheadedness. But after lying down and taking it easy for a while I felt better. The lightheadedness was not from being hungry it was from the toxins stirring around in my system. Another thing that I experienced is when I had a bowel movement the dizziness went away.

I never really got hungry only used to chewing solid foods because that is the way we are as humans. We are used to having something in our mouths chewing on.  After the (5) days I lost about 7 pounds. I felt good. I shared the cleanse with my parents. My mother could not handle it, (CAUTION!….The Master Cleanse Is Not For Everyone ) however my dad could. He read the book Master Cleanser by Stanley Borroughs in its entirety before starting the cleanse and away he went. 14 days for the first time. I was amazed and inspired at how much weight my dad lost (18 pounds) and how healthy and glowing his skin looked. After he completed the cleanse he went to his doctor’s office. His cholesterol dropped by 14 points.

I was determined on my next go around to do 10 days and see what happens. I figured if dad could do it for 14 days and is still living I can go for 10. I did it. 10 days on the cleanse. I started out as a dress size of 14. After I completed the cleanse I was a dress size 10. I was able to fit into all of my old clothes that I was not originally not able to get into. I really believe the cleanse changed my metabolism because 3 months later I came down 3 additional dress sizes. I was a size 6. I had never been a size 6 before. Of course I exercised 3 to 4 days a week. Everyone’s body is different. What works for me may or may nor work for you. I suggest If you don’t do Master Cleanse do something. Doing nothing may lead to colon cancer or a diseased colon, and other serious health consitions such as heart disease.

If you are going to do the Master Cleanse. I highly suggest reading Stanley Burroughs book written in the 1970’s “The Master Cleanser/ Lemonade Diet” found in your local health food store. There is a more recent e-book titled Master Cleanse Secrets. This guide has more modern ways of doing the Master Cleanse. He even talks about how to attack hunger during the Master Cleanse. I own both Stanley Burroughs original book and the recent Master Cleanse Secrets.

Regardless of which books you decide to purchase read them in its entirety. I say this with CAUTION. Many of my friends have asked me to just give them the recipe, they went home and tried it and became nervous and sick. So I WARN you before starting this cleanse Check With Your Doctor….And Read The Entire Book Master Cleanse in its ENTIRETY. You have to prepare yourself for this mentally and know what to expect physically.

I can say that my experience has been positive with the Master Cleanse . My dad started me using the Sea Salt portion of the cleanse because he said it worked so well for him. I agree it works very well. Just make sure you are near a restroom within a hour because it will clean you out very quickly. I have both Stanley Burroughs version from the 1970’s and the most recent updated version in e-book format written by Raylen Sterling. Raylen Sterling has an updated version of the Master Cleanse that he wrote titled “Master Cleanse Secrets “. If you are serious about doing this cleanse and you are serious about changing your eating habits to good eating habits and mostly good health for your entire body.

The Master Cleanse is ideal if you are looking for use a weight loss program because once you do the Master Cleanse you can tackle any weight loss program effectively. I highly recommend Master Cleanse Secrets . Raylen Sterling gives you alternate ways to do the cleanse However owning both books is not a bad idea because you can compare and contrast. Master Cleanse Secrets will get you through whatever number of days you decide to tackle. I found Master Cleanse Secrets to be very clear thorough and covering all bases.

If you plan on doing the Master Cleanse remember it is temporary and you are doing it for the purposes of cleaning your entire body. That mindset alone will get you through the cleanse successfully and the waste you were once carrying around that made you tired and sluggish will leave your body where weight loss is the result.

One major change that the Master Cleanse has done for me is that it converted me over to being a vegetarian. After I did my first 10 days of the cleanse my body I looked at food differently. Meat is no longer appealing to me. I looked and felt good and I was not about to ruin that.

Day 1

It’s that time again. I began day one of the master cleanse on Wednesday September 9, 2009.  I prepared myself mentally for it the week before so I was fired up and ready to go.  It started out really good.  I was bold this time because I started in the middle of the work week right after the labor day holiday weekend.  Before beginning the cleanse I weighed in at about 168 pounds.

Day 2

I felt pretty good on Thursday September 10, 2009.  I prepared my lemonade mixture the night before.  I figured out a way to get all of the juice out of the lemon and it made my mixture so much filling as I drank it during the day.  I have to admit I did not get hungry. 

Day 3

Friday September 11, 2009.  An emotional day for the country.  I used this day as a day of fasting and acknowledgement of the men and women who were taken from us 8 years ago.  It was not at all difficult on this day because I was in a day of atonement and prayer for the families that lost loved ones.  I used this day to cleanse on their behalf.

Day 4

Saturday September 12, 2009.  I woke up feeling refreshed and challenged.  For some reason I had a lot of energy during the evening hours.  I was even able to cook dinner for my family without being tempted.  As I looked at the food that I prepared for my family I thought to myself; hmm you are cleaning your body and giving your digestive system a rest.  This is only temporary.  It made me look at the food in a different manner.  It is not going anywhere; food will always be around; but keeping your body well tuned and healthy is more important.   I noticed that during the day my mouth would get somewhat dry; I kept drinking water and that helped a whole lot.  I weighed in at 163 pounds a 5 pound drop from day 1.  I was able to wear my skinny jeans to the grocery store. I needed more lemons, distilled water, smooth move tea and the pure maple syrup.  Yum Yum.  Oh yeah I got a lot of looks at the grocery store too and compliments on my clothes. 

Day 5

Sunday September 13, 2009.  I made it to the half way mark!! So far so good.  I noticed a glow in my skin.  My complexion is smooth.  I feel like a feather.  In the morning my system felt a little irritated as if if had to eliminate waste, nothing bad.  It was just going through the cleaning action.  I felt good upon waking.  I am going to church at 10:00 a.m. cst and when I return I will keep you posted on how the day went.  I am about to drink some tea for the morning and be on my way….It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood.  I took a ride on my bike in the neighborhood for about 45 minutes.  Felt very relaxing.  Before I left I began preparing dinner for my family.   Homemade vegetable soup and homemade corn bread with fresh corn and jalepeno pepper mixed in the cornbread batter.   It smells good but I know that food will always be around.  It is not going anywhere.  I tell myself this is a great opportunity to get in touch with my eating habits and keep my body in good condition.  I feel great!  After my ride in the neighborhood; I came home and drank an ice cold glass of lemonade; followed by a couple of gulps of water.  Tastes great and refreshing.  I feel fantastic!!  Stay tuned for tomorrow Day 6; I’m almost there.  Oh yeah by the way;  a church member of mine noticed the glow in my compexion at church this morning and asked what was I doing :)

Day 6

Monday September 14, 2009.  Today went well for me.  I continued drinking the tea in the morning and the lemon mixture throughout the day.  When I became a little hungry I drank more of the lemonade and water.  I put on one of my suits that fitted a little tight last week.  Today it fits comfortable and I look good in it.  Focused my attention on meal planning so when I end the cleanse I will not just eat anything.  I will have things planned out to maintain a healthy weight and  an energized body.  Onward and upward to the next day.

 

Day 7

Tuesday September 15, 2009.  Today was kind of a challenge day for me but I got through it.  At work there was food brought in from a vendor.  There was even vegetarian food; and I am a vegetarian.  I was able to get through it without being tempted.  Food will always be around; it is not going anywhere.  My health is important to me.  So I made it through day seven.  So far I have lost 7 pounds.  My clothes are fitting very loosely and comfortably.  Now…moving onto day 8.

Day 8

Wednesday September 16, 2009.  I woke up this morning feeling fine.  As the day went on I drank the lemonade and the tea and I began to feel a little dizzy.   I was at work so I took it easy for a while, drank some water and the dizziness went away.   I was able to get through the remaining of the day with no problems.  By the end of the work day; I was moving fast and had alot of energy.   CAUTION!! Don’t try this at home.  I repeat; Do Not Try This at home unless you read the entire master cleanse manual that I recommend.  Now let’s move onto to day 9.  Oh by the way; I lost a total of 8 pounds so far and my tounge is beginning to turn pink :)

Day 9

September 17, 2009.  Today was a pretty good day for me.  I am really proud of myself.  At work there was another food party.  Everyone was eating and I was not. I just kept drinking my water.  People were asking me; “ are you in line for food?”… and I told them; “no I am doing the master cleanse.”  People began to look interested in what I was doing and asking me questions. Many of them had a look of guilt on their faces.  I made it through and now I am headed to the last day; day 10.  I had my moments today where I felt a little dizzy but I took things easy and the dizziness went away. The dizziness was not from being hungry it was from waste preparing to expel from my body.   After the waste left my body I felt reeeally good!    At lunch time I was able to take a quick 45 minute power nap.  The power nap gave me a burst of energy to get through the rest of the day.  On the way home from work  as I listened to the radio;  they were talking about how many people are overweight and are suffering with diseases such as diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure and the list goes on.  When I arrived home and turned on the television the show “The Doctors” were on talking about the same thing?  What a coincidence wouldn’t you say?  As I heard that information I felt pretty good about taking control of me and not allowing food to control me.   I control the food that I put into my body!  Well on to day 10 the last day!

Day 10

September 18, 2009.  I did it!! I have completed the cleanse.  Today went very well for me.  I drank some tea this morning and lemonade throughout the day.  I was very much looking forward to ending the cleasne.  I received many compliments from people from; “ your skin looks clear and glowing” to; you’ve lost weight haven’t you; you look good.”  It was a challenge but I got through it.  Well that’s it for me.  I probably will do the cleanse again in about 6 months or so; or when my body says it’s time.  Tomorrow I will drink orange juice and began to eat a homemade vegetable soup that I put on the slow cooker this morning.  Mmmm!  Because I have been doing the cleanse for 13 years my body is accustomed to coming off of it without going through the last steps;  so I usually do not have to follow the last steps of breaking the cleanse.  If you do the cleanse I recommend that you follow the instructions outlined in the master cleanse manual.  Well that is it for me.  Take care and have a healthy and happy day:)  Oh and by the way I went from 168 pounds to 158 pounds.  Not bad huh:)






3 Tips To Completing The Master Lemonade Cleanse

Doing the Master Cleanse is not as easy as it sounds.  You have to be in control of our goals and what you want to accomplish.What is the Master Cleanse?If used correctly the Master Cleanse will clean all of your body organs including and not limited to your heart, liver, the trillions of cells in your body.  It purifies your blood, and gets rid of toxic waste that you may be carrying in your body.  It replaces the elastic in your skin giving you a younger glowing appearance.  The Master Cleanse is made up of all natural ingredients that you can buy at your neighborhood health food store and grocery store.Many people have tried the master cleanse only to find out that they can’t do it and they give up. On the first day.A step by step approach is required in order to get you through it.  Here are 3 tips that may help you.

#1 – Read the entire master cleanse secrets e-book before you begin it.  Over the 13 years that I have been doing the master cleanse; many people have asked me to write out the ingredients for them so that they can just jump in and do the cleanse.  NO WAY!….is my response.  This cleanse is nothing to play with.  You must read the master cleanse secrets in its entirety before attempting.

#2 – The next tip is preparing yourself mentally.  After you have read the ENTIRE book and understand what to expect; you then have to begin the mental process of actually doing it and getting through it.  Knowing when the best time to start is to listen to your body.  Ask yourself these questions; are you feeling lazy, tired or lack energy?  Are you constipated,  is it harder for you to digest food?  Are you having bouts of gas?  Are you experiencing frequently colds?  These are signs.  Your body is talking to you.  It’s telling you that something is not right.  If you are answering yes to these questions; then it may be time to do the cleanse.

#3 – Decide what day of the week you want to begin.  I strongly recommend Saturday because (depending on what type of work you do)  most people do not have to work on Saturday.  This gives you the entire weekend to allow your body to get used to the cleanse and its effects.  If you work on Saturdays then choose a day that will work for your schedule. Having the weekend free will allow you to be close to the restroom and to move into the cleanse.  By the time that Monday rolls around your body will have gotten used to it and it will be a little easier to get through the remaining week.
